25 Books of Christmas - Ready for Next Year!

As we are cleaning up all of the Christmas decorations, Big Sister, a friend and I sorted our books into "loved it!" "liked it" and "toss it" groups (then I made sure we didn't "toss" any good ones!). I then made sure we have a good balance between Christ-based Christmas books and winter/random Christmas books.

I had a moment where I thought, what if I want to do an activity with one of these books before we open it next year?! So in addition to wrapping them I cataloged them and labeled the back with a little letter. Sounds complicated but it really only took a few seconds to jot down the title of the book as I wrapped it. I did letters instead of numbers because I was afraid that if I put a # on the back we would be inclined to open them in that order and I really want it to be random.

I did leave a few unwrapped...like the seek and find Christmas book and a book that had a CD of children's Christmas music just to have available for car rides and other activities next year. And we are a few books short of 25. I know one will be a new Bible but that leaves me room to find some treasures throughout this next year!

So, there you have it...ready for next year! Now, all I have to do is put them in a vacuum sealed bag and get my husband to put them up in the attic. I have to be honest, it feels really good to have this done. And I know I'll appreciate it next year after Thanksgiving when it's time to think about this again.

In fact, being this organized makes me feel like...hmmm, what can I organize next?!

Do you ever feel inspired after completing one project? What are you planning on doing next? :)
