25 Books of Christmas - Mickey Mouse's Santa's Helpers

The weather was perfect for a fire. So we decided to bundle up and head outside for our story time tonight! Changing the location of where you read can add a special element to story time, but it can also be disruptive to your child's expected routine. When routines change you should expect things to go less smoothly.

Little W was totally distracted by all the cool things outside and the story is very wordy so we let him listen (if you can call it that!).

For Big Sister we did some predicting "what do you think they'll do now?" and problem solving "what would you do if..." as well as some open ended type questions "I wonder what job I would have if I got to be one of Santa's helpers?"

She wants to be the one who makes skateboards.

Our focus tonight was spending time together. We read, we snuggled and we quietly watched the fire. It was one of our best nights yet!
