Read with Me!
A series about reading popular books
while doing simple language building activities!

From June 1, 2012 to July 23, 2012, my daughter and I read 24 books to earn a free book. You can see the plan and reading list here.  Here's how it turned out:

June 1 - Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak
June 3 - We're Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen
June 5 - Mother, Mother I Want Another by Maria Polushkin Robbins
June 8 - Sheep in a Jeep by Nancy Shaw
June 10 - Big Red Barn by Margaret Wise Brown
June 12 - Listen to the Rain by Bill Martin Jr. and John Archambault
June 13 - Swimmy by Leo Lionni
June 15 - The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle
June 19 - Jesse Bear, What will You Wear by Nancy White Carlstrom
June 20 - Ten, Nine, Eight by Molly Bang
June 22 - The Napping House by Audrey Wood
June 25 - The Little Engine that Could by Watty Piper
June 27 - True Story of the 3 Little Pigs by Jon Scieszka
June 29 - 3 Billy Goats Gruff by Paul Galdon
July 2 - Corduroy by Don Freeman
July 5 - Harry the Dirty Dog by Gene Zion
July 7 - The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss
July 9 - Good Night Gorilla by Peggy Rathmann
July 12 - Imogene's Antlers by David Small
July 13 - If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Numeroff
July 16 - Harold and the Purple Crayon by Crockett Johnson
July 18 - Planting a Rainbow by Lois Ehlert
July 20 - Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You Hear? by Bill Martin, Jr.
July 23 - The Doorbell Rang by Pat Hutchins

While the program for earning the free book is now closed, these books are wonderful and there are lots of ideas of language skills to work on while you are reading with your child. The activities are geared towards toddler and preschoolers (ages 2-5).
